In the take-up stage of cable production, coordination between traversing and winding directly affects bobbin build uniformity, appearance consistency, and downstream pay-off stability.
Why improvement is needed ?
Conventional take-up machines often rely heavily on operator experience for alignment and adjustment. Manual setup after bobbin changeover can increase the risk of off-center winding and edge build-up.
The role of Smart Traverser
Built on Digital VR™’s modular retrofit approach, Smart Traverser brings laser-guided positioning and digital traverse control to existing take-up machines. It improves positioning and traverse control where legacy equipment falls short, making take-up operations more stable and controllable.

Overview of Machine Parts
A: Traverse Module
Integrates the traverse slide, guiding mechanism, and drive motor to perform the core side-to-side traversing motion.
B: Mounting & Integration Module
Composed of brackets, mounting bases, and installation adapters to ensure stable integration with existing machines while retaining flexibility for on-site installation conditions.
C: Laser Positioning Module
Includes a laser positioning unit and laser rangefinder to provide the digital reference needed for traverse alignment.
D: Control Module
Built around the Digital VR controller to coordinate positioning, scanning, and drive control logic.
